I feel like the writers really dropped the ball with the Jesse/Fiona thing. The only thing at this point that could really intrigue me about the show is if when it came back five years had elapsed or something. I just feel like it will always, always be Fiona running after Michael, willing to give everything for nothing in return. Michael never grows, never changes. When the show comes back, it will be S5, can you believe that? S5! I need them to change it up, and I don't mean by just adding a super attractive African-American guy to their cast.
My roommate loved BN, like how I loved PB back in the day, she was just enamored of Jeffrey Donovan and the show, and watched it incessantly. I was never that into it, but she was, and even she is "over" it now. So I feel like it's not just me, if she, as s die-hard fan, feels that way, it seems like they aren't doing something right anymore.
And it is sad, because it has such potential, if they ever actually make Michale choose! But instead, Fi makes it easy for him. I want her to fall madly in love with Jesse, who as you said here, would choose the girl.
