Over at [livejournal.com profile] het_reccers I recommended over 45 fics for the month of July in a variety of fandoms and ships. In case you are looking for some new reading material they can be found HERE.

I also finished a character manifesto (that includes 12 fic recs) for Miss Caroline Forbes. That can be found HERE.

When all is said and done that was over fifty recs. In one month. WHEW.

Read and enjoy and don't forget to leave feedback for all those talented authors!

Because I'm a spoiled little brat, I had two fics written for me yesterday for the event of my birthday and I just thought I'd share the wealth a little bit because they are just as fabulous as the ladies who wrote them for me:

Unbroken by [livejournal.com profile] domfangirl. (Juliet, Juliet/Sawyer), R, 1/1. Spoilers for La Fleur and Namaste.

She had found that the only thing she had to cope with was the idea that she was falling in love with Sawyer. Except that she’d never really known Sawyer—and she had been falling in love with James from the minute he asked her to give him two weeks.

Why you should give it a chance: A) it was written for ME B) it's perfection. C) it's well written Sawyer/Juliet by one of my most favorite people in the entire world and D) because I SAID SO AND IT'S MY BIRTHDAY AND WHAT I SAY GOES.

Caramel by [livejournal.com profile] moleyneux. (Nate, Nate/Vanessa), pg, 1/1. General Series Spoilers.

She reaches forward to stroke his forelock in a gesture that has come to mean “Good Morning,” and it lifts Nate’s heart because with her, he no longer needs kisses and promises.

Her fingers through his hair say it all.

Why you should give it a chance: This is such a lovely little insight into Nate's character and his subtle juxtaposition of Blair Vs. Vanessa is fantastic. This fic embodies pretty much every thing I love about the N/V relationship -- the most important of them being the fact that with her Nate isn't so boring.

FTW!

More birthday fic:

Eight Second Fluctuation by [livejournal.com profile] wings4music. (Mark, Mark/Lexie), pg-13, 1/1, general series spoilers.

His therapist often threw out the words fear and escape. Mark Sloan synonymous with fear and the need to run away? He always laughed, signed the checks, sent them the way of his therapist, then laughed some more.

(He should have stopped going ages ago but once in awhile he enjoyed hearing the honest to God truth about himself.)

Why you should give it a chance: Because it's awesome? No, really, it's Mark Sloan and well written Mark Sloan at that. I've found it hard to find fic in this fandom with him not being OOC. This is him through and through. She really gets into this head and his thoughts and feelings about Lexie, about Derek and life. To say I loved this would be an understatement and I seriously recommend you run, not walk, to go read it.

So, as I ventured into the land of NCIS fic earlier this week, I unfortunately found that well-written NCIS fic that I like is pretty scarce. Worse, I found that for some reason Tony/Ziva fic is even more scarce. So here are a few I found that are worth a glance at if you enjoy the show and these characters.

(And when I say few, I really do mean few. It was slim-pickings, kids.)

To Those Who Will Let Things Go Wrong by [livejournal.com profile] saintstreet. (Ziva, Tony/Ziva), R, 1/1. Spoilers for Shalom.

They are shaken, vulnerable, but not destroyed. She makes this clear to Tony, with a tone and conviction that surprises even herself. They aren't without a leader. He is their leader.

"So you better not fuck up, Tony," she tells him, leaning against his shoulder. He is warm and smells clean, sharp, and Ziva very much wants to fall asleep now. "I do not particularly feel like breaking in McGee." She means to sound reserved, sarcastic, but when the last of her statement is broken by a yawn, it becomes a moot point.

Why you should give it a chance: This was such a fantastic insight to not only these two characters, but a wonderful take on the situation post season three. Not to mention there is some pretty hot sex of the T/Z nature. Who can deny that?

Vacationing in Tel Aviv by [livejournal.com profile] nixa_jane. (Ziva, Tony) pg-13, 1/1. General series spoilers

Tony's eyes are guarded as he glances around the room. He is still getting a feel for this job, this new person he has been asked to be. Ziva's there already, because this is who she really is.

"It's not what I expected," he says.

Ziva drops her gun onto the bedspread with the kind of indifference only those that have killed can have. "You know, this whole city used to be only sand," she says.

"We're not very good at empty spaces," Tony tells her, as he sits down beside the gun on the bed. "We've always got to fill them up with something."

Why you should give it a chance: THE IMAGERY! THE DIALOGUE! How does such wonderfulness exist? It's Gen more than anything else, with Tony and Ziva kicking ass and taking names, but it's such an amazing story. I thought that there would be this vast amount of Ziva fic out there because of all the possibilities this character has presented us, but there wasn't. This almost makes up for that.

Damage by [livejournal.com profile] ygrawn (Tony, Tony/Ziva) pg-13, 1/1. General Series spoilers; specifics for Bury Your Dead.

Tony expected Ziva to understand his undercover mission with Jeanne better than anyone else.

He’s not supposed to know, but he has it from a good source that one of Ziva’s Mossad missions included a twelve-month undercover operation when she was barely twenty-two. She has a military background and she follows orders no matter the personal sacrifices required. And she can lie like breathing and has an internal moral compass that allows her to tell whatever lies are necessary to do what she thinks is right, because the end justifies the means.

And she does understand, so really what Tony means to say is that he expected Ziva to forgive and forget the fastest.

Why you should give it a chance: HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE NCIS FIC EVER WRITTEN. I stumbled upon this when I had all but given up hope, and I'm so glad I did. Tony's voice is spot-on perfect and even though it's Tony/Ziva at the core, it's more of a character piece that flows effortlessly. The writer also has the other characters down pat, too.

So first of all, I get home this morning so excited to sit down and have breakfast and watch Prison Break and guess what? My stupid fuckin' Tivo decided not to work and didn't tape it! I was so mad. Why pay two hundred dollars for the damn thing if it never decides to work? Ugh. Anyone know where I can download it? I just can't NOT watch it.

Also, I talked to the police officer who handled my case a few weeks ago, and they found the rest of my stuff. Including my camera. With the memory card still intact. And the officer, knowing how much those pictures meant to me, uploaded them onto his computer and brought them to me (to help identify that it was mine and just because he was an incredibly nice guy). I take back every mean and awful thing I said about the Providence PD because they are fantastic. And I love them. What's funny though, is that the guy who took the stuff actually video taped himself with the camera pawning it. How stupid can you get?

Finally, HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone! I've been stuffing my face full of candy all day so even if I could give you some, there wouldn't be any left to give :/
