I love love love this. It feels so real, it's like looking right into Sophie's head. I especially liked the way you handled their pre-series relationship--most fics I've read have Nate and Sophie kiss or give in to their passions momentarily (which is fine by me, really) but here, Sophie "doesn't want to be the woman who turned him into the type of man who disobeyed vows and broke promises he’d had every intention of keeping until he met her." And I think that resonates so much with canon, her character, her role as Nate's compass, everything, etc.
Also, the way you juxtaposed her past with the events after The Last Dam Job is breathtaking. She's come such a long way from who she was before, but she still has hang ups, and so does Nate, and like astridv said, it's not going to be easy between them, but they still love each other anyway. This fic has made me so hopeful for Nate's development (which is, more or less, equal to Sophie/Nate development in my head) in season 5. (Which is one week away! *__*)
