If I'm being selfish, then I'll say yes. Absolutely. Please watch Lie To Me and get all the feelings that are still plaguing me now and then WRITE ALL THE FICS.
But it'll rip your heart out. In all honesty (IN MY OPINION), while Lie To Me is one of my favourite shows, the writing can be rather shoddy. There are a few amazing episodes (season 1's Depraved Heart is one of my favourites) but everything else is mediocre. The continuity and character development are not consistent (especially when compared to Leverage), and some characters are even sidelined.
I know I'm not doing a very good job of selling it. But wait.
There's a reason why despite all its flaws (and god, the flaws), it's one of my favourite shows.
And that reason is the relationship between the two main leads, Cal and Gillian. Embodying the BFF trope even before Harvey and Donna existed (when I first started watching Suits, all I could think about was how Harvey/Donna are filling in the void that Cal/Gillian were forced to leave behind). Best friends, watching out for each other's backs whether they've been asked to or not, saving each other both physically and emotionally (most of the time it's Gillian doing the saving but Cal has his moments), BLATANTLY CHECKING EACH OTHER OUT (most of the time it's Cal doing that less-than-subtle checking out but Gillian has her moments), being there for each other, bailing each other out...
But here's the hard and painful truth: the only reason why Lie To Me will rip out your heart and then stomp all over it is because it was cancelled before it was resolved. And by "it" I am referring to Cal/Gillian and by "resolved" I am referring to them boning getting together romantically (the "romantically" is important because lbr they are together in every sense except being together without clothes on) which was almost certainly going to happen if not for the show's untimely cancellation (confirmed by TPTB in a post-cancellation Q&A -- season 4 would have been about their romantic relationship).
So if you're gonna watch Lie To Me, watch it for one of the most wholesome and complex fictional relationship to ever exist to the point that it negates the flaws of the show.
